Stoyan Nihtianov (M’93-SM’98) received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics from the Technical University in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1980 and 1987, respectively. His professional career has been split evenly between academia and industry. From 1987 till 1995 he was an assistant and associate professor at the Technical University in Sofia, teaching and researching in the field of smart sensors and sensor systems. Since 1995 till 2000 he was with the Laboratory of Electronics, University of Technology – Delft, The Netherlands, where he was a senior research fellow working in the field of smart sensor systems.

Since 2000 till 2021 he was with the high-tech company ASML, The Netherlands, in the position of a designer, principle researcher and project manager. Since 2003 he is also a part-time associate professor in the Electronics Instrumentation lab of TU Delft, The Netherlands, leading a research group in the field of  industrial electronic instrumentation. Stoyan Nihtianov has authored or co-authored three books and four book chapters, more than 160 peer-reviewed journal and conference scientific papers in the field of sensors and sensor interface electronics.

Stoyan Nihtianov is an active member of IEEE. He is an AdCom member of the IEEE Sensors Council and a Vice-president Planning & Development of the Industrial Electronics Society (2022-2023). He is also a topical editor (Sensor Interface Electronics) of the IEEE Sensors Journal. He is a general co-chair of the IEEE sponsored annual conference “Electronics” in Sozopol, Bulgaria.

Kofi Makinwa (IEEE fellow) holds degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (B.Sc., M.Sc.), Philips International Institute, Eindhoven (M.E.E.), and Delft University of Technology, Delft (Ph.D.). From 1989 to 1999, he was a research scientist at Philips Research Laboratories, where he designed sensor systems for interactive displays, and analog front-ends for optical and magnetic recording systems. In 1999 he joined Delft University of Technology, where he is currently an Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Engineering and Head of the Microelectronics Department.

Dr. Makinwa holds 30+ patents, has authored or co-authored 250+ technical papers and 10 books, and has co-edited 6 more. He has been on the program committees of several other IEEE conferences, including the VLSI symposium and ESSCIRC. He is a co-organizer of the Advances in Analog Circuit Design (AACD) workshop.

He is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and a member of the editorial board of the Proceedings of the IEEE, the society’s flagship journal.

Chonggang Wang received the Ph.D. degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 2002. He is currently a Principal Engineer with InterDigital Communications. He has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of wireless communications, networking, and computing, including research, development, and standardization. His current research interests include future wireless systems, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, decentralized and pervasive intelligence, and quantum internet. He participates in industry standardization activities with IETF/IRTF, ETSI, oneM2M, 3GPP and IEEE. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Internet of Things Journal and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Network – The Magazine of Global Internetworking. He is a Fellow of the IEEE for his contributions to internet of things enabling technologies.

Mirjam Otten is a very energetic and enthusiastic person. She is with  the best hi-tech company in the Eindhoven area (called ASML) since 2000, where she fulfils the role of Events Coordinator of the Development & Engineering sector (more than 7000 employees), as of 2 years. This  role can be described as a ‘Jack-of-all-trades’, as there are many factors to consider simultaneously. Next to the organization of smaller and bigger events (The virtual ASML Technology Conference in 2020 counted almost 17.000 visitors) Mirjam consults the  new Management Assistants how to organize virtual events using Teams, and gives advice to everyone within the company who would like to know more about event’s planning.
